While other Chico State women's track & field distance runners have been garnering most of the headlines this spring, junior Hannah Dorman has quietly been putting together an outstanding 2017 season. Already having notched personal best times this year in the 1,500- and 5,000-meter runs, the Happy Valley product made some headlines of her own Thursday at the Mt. SAC Invitational, winning one the meet's 10,000-meter runs and posting an NCAA provisional mark while scaling the upper reaches of the Chico State record books. Dorman's dynamite performance in Southern California makes her the latest Wildcat of the Week.

Dorman took top honors in the 10,000-meter Open-A competition, stopping the clock at 34:46.56 and outdistancing the runner-up by more than two seconds. The time gave Dorman her second NCAA provisional mark of the season (she also earned a provisional in the 5k), and vaulted her into the number two slot on Chico State's all-time top 10 in the 10k, trailing only Alia Gray's record time (34:31.09) set six years ago.

Dorman's 10k time currently ranks first in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) and fifth among all Division II runners in the nation this season.

The Chico State women's track & field team will be in Arcata this Saturday, taking part in the Humboldt State Border Battle.
