Please direct all credential requests to either Senior Athletics Communications Coordinator Rick Hoskin and/or Athletics Communications Coordinator Cayden Jones at least 48 hours before the contest in question.
The names of those who request a credential at least 48 hours in advance, and those who cover Chico State Athletics events on a semi-regular basis, will be posted at the ticket window and get you access inside the door/gate. Upon entering, please proceed to the program stand, give your name and show a form of ID, and you will be given a Chico State Athletics press credential. Anyone not displaying a Chico State Athletics credential will be asked to leave the media area. Unless you have been granted permission to keep the credential throughout the season, please return it to an Athletics Communications staff member following the event.
Chico State Athletics values collaboration with Chico State’s journalism and media programs, including The Orion, broadcast students, and those enrolled in sports- or media-related coursework. All student media requests must be emailed to Rick Hoskin or Cayden Jones based on sport assignment at least 48 hours prior to the interview or home contest.
Requests must include:
- Student’s full name and Chico State email
- Course number and title (e.g., JOUR 321: Sports and Media)
- Faculty advisor’s name and email
- Assignment description or publication platform (e.g., The Orion, class project, video feature, podcast)
- Requested interviewee(s) or sport
- Intended publication date or project due date
Access will be coordinated through Athletics Communications in consultation with the faculty advisor. Requests may be denied if submitted late, incomplete, or outside assignment scope. Students may not directly contact coaches, staff, or student-athletes without prior approval.
Please direct all photography credential requests to Athletics Communications at least 48 hours before the contest in question. Anyone taking photos outside of designated seating or field-level areas without a credential will be asked to return to the stands. No flash photography is allowed at any Chico State Athletics event. Drone use is strictly prohibited.
Working space on the press table or in designated media areas is limited to credentialed members of the media. Seats are reserved for media covering Chico State regularly. Any unique requests must be made at least 48 hours prior to each game. Please reserve seating by emailing the Athletics Communications Office.
Parking at Chico State is strictly enforced Monday through Friday and is free on weekends. However, please be mindful of the Chico State parking policy.
