ALISO VIEJO, Calif. – Coming off perhaps the best weekly performance in her collegiate career, Chico State senior forward Meadow Aragon has been selected as the FloCollege/CCAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 12–18 after leading the Wildcats to two statement wins over Cal Poly Humboldt in a battle of unbeatens.
Aragon averaged 15.5 points and 14.5 rebounds per game while adding four assists, three steals, and a block as Chico State extended its winning streak to 13 games. In Thursday's overtime contest, she scored 17 points and delivered the game-winning buzzer-beater. She followed that performance on Saturday by tying the Chico State single-game rebounding record with 22 boards, a mark originally set by Val Richie in January 18, 1975 at Humboldt (then known as Humboldt State), while adding 14 points and three assists.
Aragon's standout week also pushed her past the 1,000-point milestone for her collegiate career. She currently leads the CCAA in rebounding and ranks among the conference's top scorers, recording nine double-doubles this season, which ranks among the best marks in NCAA Division II.
This is Aragon's third CCAA Player of the Week honor this season and the fifth of her career. It also marks Chico State's fourth CCAA Player of the Week award in 2025–26, with Kaylie Edge earning the conference honor earlier this season in November.
Chico state, riding on an impressive 13-game win streak, will put that and its program-best 10-0 start to conference play this week against Cal State San Bernardino and No. 10 Cal Poly Pomona in Acker Gym. The matchup with the Coyotes begin Thursday at 5:30 p.m. while the clash with the Broncos in a battle for first place will take place Saturday at 1 p.m.
