Parry, Aragon, Reid Headline Wildcats as All-CCAA

| By:

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. – Chico State women's basketball continued to make its mark in the CCAA as three Wildcats were honored on this year's all-conference teams, the conference announced Tuesday. Senior forwards Meadow Aragon and Madison Parry were voted first-team All-CCAA while sophomore guard Kamil Reid earned second-team All-CCAA.

Aragon, from Nevada City, earned fiirst-team All-CCAA honors for the second consecutive season and is now a three-time selection, garnering All-GNAC honorable mention as a freshman. Despite a season-ending injury halfway into the conference schedule, the coaches felt she made a significant impact in the 16 games she started, averaging 15.2 points and 10.9 rebounds per game, both were ranked in the conference's top 10 up until her injury. Aragon also earned FloCollege/CCAA Player of the Week three times, making her and Cal State LA's Nevaeh Asiasi - the CCAA Player of the Year - as the only three-time winner of the weekly award.

Parry, from Loomis, adds another accolade to her notable career with her third first-team All-CCAA selection, having won the same award twice as a member of Cal Poly Humboldt. She was also the 2021-22 CCAA Freshman of the Year with the Lumberjacks. This season in a Wildcat uniform, Parry started all 28 games and ended the conference schedule ranked third scoring (16.9 points per game), eighth in rebounding (7.5), fifth in field-goal percentage (.447) and third in free throw percentage (.812).

Reid, from Antioch, received her first all-conference selection in her collegiate career in just her second season with the Wildcats. She started all 26 games she appeared in and averaged 10.5 points per game, ranking 18th in the conference.

All three played pivotal roles in Chico State's 15-7 CCAA finish, good for fourth place in the conference standings. The Wildcats qualified for the CCAA Tournament for the sixth consecutive year. They achieved two major milestones along the way, having started conference play 11-0 for the first time and tied a program record with a 14-game winning streak.

The CCAA Tournament, held at Cal Poly Pomona's Kellogg Pomona, will feature Chico State and Cal State Dominguez Hills in the quarterfinal round. The two tipoff Thursday at 2:30 p.m. with the winner advancing to the semifinal round against the host and conference champion Broncos Friday.
