Wildcats and HSU only unbeatens remaining in CCAA; Sonoma State looms Sunday

Six straight road wins. Four straight victories shutout victories. The Chico State men's soccer team is riding some impressive streaks. But the Wildcats' history with Humboldt State and Sonoma State goes back much further. Way, way back.

The Wildcats will face both teams on the road this weekend. They are at Humboldt State Friday at 3 p.m. and at Sonoma State Sunday at 2 p.m. Streak or no streak. Shutout or no shutout. When Chico State faces Humboldt State or Sonoma State, the stakes are always high.

But Friday's showdown against Humboldt State is not just about a rivalry or some streaks. First place is also on the line. At 6-2-0 overall, Chico State enters the weekend atop the California Collegiate Athletic Association table at 4-0 in conference play. Humboldt State is 6-1-0 overall and 3-0-0 in the CCAA.

Sonoma State is off to a strong start as well. The Seawolves are 5-3-1 overall and 2-1-0 in the CCAA.
