Peterson and Gray Named 2025 All-CCAA Honorable Mention

| By:

CHICO, Calif. – Dane Peterson and Michael Gray have earned All-CCAA Honorable Mention recognition following their standout performances this fall. Both newcomers to the Wildcats this season made an immediate impact on the wings, combining to score half of Chico State's total goals while starting all 16 matches throughout the campaign.

In his first season with the Wildcats, Dane Peterson emerged as the team's offensive leader, tallying six goals and one assist. The sophomore from San Diego opened his Chico State career in style, scoring in three consecutive matches—from the season opener against Western Washington (Sept. 4) through the road match at Saint Martin's (Sept. 11). Peterson recorded three game-winning goals, securing all three of the Wildcats' conference victories in tightly contested home matchups.

Peterson's blend of physicality and technical ability brought a dynamic edge to the Wildcats' midfield, as he quickly adapted to the competitive pace of CCAA play.

Michael Gray, a senior transfer from Sonoma State, also made his mark in his lone season with the Wildcats. He notched a career-high three goals, finding the back of the net against Saint Martin's (Sept. 11), Dominican (Sept. 18), and Cal Poly Pomona (Oct. 10). Bringing valuable CCAA experience to a young Chico State roster, Gray's tenacity and speed provided a crucial spark to the Wildcats' attack, allowing them to press high and maintain intensity from kickoff to the final whistle.

The Chico State men's soccer team has officially concluded the 2025 fall campaign, finishing just outside of the CCAA Tournament bubble in 7th with an overall record of 6-7-4 (4-4-3 CCAA).
