CHICO, Calif. – Behind goals from Dominick Rollins Trovato and Dane Peterson, Chico State secured a 2–1 win over Cal State Monterey Bay on Friday afternoon at University Soccer Stadium. The result moves the Wildcats to 4-6-4 overall (2-3-3 CCAA), while the Otters fell to 4-8-2 (1-6-2 CCAA).

How it happened
The Wildcats went in front in the 27th minute when Dominick Rollins Trovato connected with a cross from Jack Shane for his first goal of the season and shifting the momentum in favor of the home side. Dane Peterson doubled the lead just after halftime, heading home the Wildcats second goal, assisted by Shane again from a free kick outside of the box.
Cal State Monterey Bay's Philip Wolny cut the deficit to one in the 81st minute, but Chico held firm the rest of the way.
Weston Joyner recorded five saves for the Wildcats, making massive stops for his squad, including a goal line save in the closing minutes to secure three points.
With the win over the Otters, the Wildcats jump into a tie for 7th with the Broncos of Cal Poly Pomona, holding at 9 points on the CCAA season. With two games remaining, the 'Cats will need to finish strong for a chance at a CCAA Tournament.
