Chico State Athletics

Scott Land was one of the most prolific scorers in Chico State men’s basketball history, earning first-team All-CCAA honors twice and second-team All-West Region recognition in both 2002-03 and 2004-05.

Land scored 1,567 career points, finishing second in program history and establishing the highest total of Chico State’s modern era. He also set the school career record with 276 three-pointers. His 551 points in 2002-03 were the most by a Wildcat in nearly 50 years and still rank among the best single-season totals in program history.

Land also helped return Chico State to the NCAA postseason. The Wildcats reached the 2003-04 NCAA West Regional, their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1992-93, and qualified again in 2004-05.

After Chico State, Land remained closely connected to the Chico community. He is a minority owner of Sierra Nevada Sealcoating, working alongside former teammates Tim Haley and Colin Carr. Land met his wife, Audrey, while she was a Chico State soccer student-athlete, and together they are raising their two children, Maddie and Hank, in Chico.
