Move over Doug E Fresh. For the Chico State basketball program, the song has been changed to: "Six minutes… six minutes… six minutes Tanner Giddings you're on."

Giddings was a 1-year-old when Doug E Fresh rose to fame with his song "The Show," featuring the lyric "Six minutes… six minutes… six minutes Doug E Fresh you're on." But as a 21-year-old senior for the Wildcats, Giddings is quickly becoming the Wildcats' six-minute moneyman.

Twice this weekend Giddings played a crucial role in the Wildcats' come-from-behind wins, making huge plays down the stretch beginning with roughly six minutes left to play.

The Wildcat of the Week led the 23rd-ranked Wildcats to a 3-0 week with wins at William Jessup (78-58), San Francisco State (74-67) and Cal State East Bay (57-54). Giddings averaged 9.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists and a steal per game while shooting 67 percent (12-for-18).

He did much of that damage with the game in the balance in the Wildcats' CCAA-opening wins this weekend.

Friday, the Wildcats trailed San Francisco State by seven late in the game before Giddings scored seven points to spark a game-changing 11-2 run. His three-point play on a tip-in with 3:59 left gave the Wildcats the lead.

Saturday, after Cal State East Bay led for much of the second half, Giddings scored the tying bucket with 6:20 left, gave the Wildcats the lead for good with a steal and coast-to-coast layup with 3:43 to play, and stretched the lead to five with an inside bucket with 2:01 left.

The Wildcats will wrap up the non-conference portion of their schedule Wednesday with a game at Stanislaus State. Saturday, Chico State hosts Cal State San Marcos in its first conference home game of 2015-16.
