DUPONT, Wash. — The tournament faced an unexpected delay when play was suspended after just four holes Friday morning at due to adverse weather conditions. Rainy and windy conditions, with gusts reaching up to 25 mph, ultimately led to the cancellation of the opening round, wiping out the first four holes of play. Competition resumed at 1 p.m., allowing teams to complete 18 holes. The tournament will conclude with another 18 holes Saturday, making it a 36-hole event.

The Chico State men's golf team sits in 10th place at the SMU Bishop Invitational at The Home Course after posting a team score of 305. The team was third in the field in par 5 scoring, playing them at -4.

Sammy Bermant led the Wildcats with a 74 (+2) and is tied for 15th. Notably, Sammy was T1 in the field in par 5 scoring, playing them at -3. Vineet Vallamsetty followed with a 76 (+4), placing him in a tie for 37th. Ty Weaver carded a 77 (+5) and is tied for 49th, while Collin Statler rounded out the Wildcats' scoring with a 78 (+6), placing him in a tie for 56th.

The Wildcats will play the final round tomorrow with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
