GOODYEAR, Ariz. — The Chico State women's golf team opened its 2026 season with a 10th-place finish at the Women's Shootout at Estrella, played Monday and Tuesday at Golf Club of Estrella.

The Wildcats opened the tournament with a team score of 307, sitting in ninth place after the first round. Chico State followed with a 319 in Tuesday's final round to finish the tournament with a two-round total of 626 and place 10th overall, in a 16 team field.

Sophomore Gabriella Fanucchi led the Wildcats, following an opening-round 73 with a 78 in the final round. She finished with a 151 total to tie for 23rd individually.

Making her Wildcat debut, Emilee Canepa delivered a consistent performance, carding back-to-back rounds of 76 to finish with a 152 total and tie for 25th.

Sienna Garcia carded rounds of 78-83, finishing tied for 64th with a 161 total. Sophia Magaña rounded out Chico State's scoring with rounds of 80 and 82 for a 162 total, finishing tied for 68th.

Chico State will return to action Monday, Sept. 28, at Tascosa Golf Club in Amarillo, Texas.
