CHICO, Calif. – Springtime sun finally brought some relief to Chico after a weekend of heavy rain and thunderstorms, arriving just in time for the Wildcat Invitational at Butte Creek Country Club. The Chico State women's golf team is hosting its first home tournament in Chico and has welcomed four other West Region programs for the two-round event.
The Wildcats posted a 335 (+47) team score after the opening round, with senior Brooke Pelletier leading the way. Pelletier carded a 79 (+7) over her first 18 holes and sits tied for eighth heading into Tuesday's final round.
Freshman Gabriella Fanucchi followed closely behind, recording an 80 (+8). She opened her round with a birdie on hole one and added another on the 14th, finishing the day tied for 10th.
Ariana Blagrove posted an 86 (+12) and sits in 20th place after the first round.
Sophia Magana and Sienna Garcia each carded 89 (+17) to round out the Wildcats' scoring lineup.
Competing as individuals, Hollyn Drennen and Lillian Crays each recorded rounds of 86 (+14) and are tied for 23rd on the leaderboard.
Chico State will return to the course Tuesday morning for the final round of the 2026 Wildcat Invitational, with an 8 a.m. shotgun start at Butte Creek Country Club.
