Wildcats Complete 36 Holes at Fujikura Invitational

VISTA, Calif. – The Chico State women's golf team completed the opening two rounds of the Fujikura Invitational on Monday at Shadowridge Country Club, hosted by Cal State San Marcos. The Wildcats posted team scores of 330 and 327 over 36 holes to sit in 12th place heading into Tuesday's final round.

Head Coach Fegley-Birchmier said the Wildcats carried confidence into the tournament after a strong practice round and a clear game plan. She added that the team plans to stick with that same approach in the final round while focusing on improving how they handle adversity.

Senior Brooke Pelletier paced Chico State through the first two rounds. Pelletier opened with a 7-over par 79, carding a 38 on the back nine. She followed with a 4-over par 76 in the second round, going 38-38 to finish the day at 11-over overall. Pelletier currently sits in a tie for 26th place and is ranked inside the top 15 in par-4 scoring in the 74-player field.

Junior Ariana Blagrove turned in an 80 in the opening round, highlighted by three birdies and posted 39 on the front and 40 on the back nine. She added an 83 (+11) in the second round and is tied for 55th and ranks third in the field with six total birdies.

Freshman Gabriella Fanucchi posted consistent rounds of 84-84 and is tied for 59th place.

Sophomore Sophia Magaña improved in round two after opening with an 87 (+15). She shaved three strokes with an 84 (+12) in the afternoon round and currently sits in 65th place. Sophomore Hollyn Drennen carded an 87-87 to wrap up Monday's play in 69th place overall.

The Wildcats will close out the Fujikura Invitational with the third and final round Tuesday morning, teeing off in an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
