HAYWARD, CALIF. – The Chico State women's golf team wrapped up its fall segment Tuesday at the East Bay Fall Invitational, hosted by Cal State East Bay at Stonebrae Country Club. The Wildcats finished 14th in the 15-team field with a three-round total of 1,003 (+112), posting scores of 337 (+49), 332 (+44), and 334 (+46).
Senior Brooke Pelletier led the Wildcats with rounds of 80–82–85 to finish tied for 50th.
Head coach Heather Fegley-Birchmeier spoke on her senior's growth, saying, "Brooke continues to elevate her game. This semester she's made great strides in overcoming the mental challenges that come with playing golf." She added that a true testament to Pelletier's development is "her ability to stay competitive even after a tough stretch of holes."
Freshman Gabriella Fanucchi followed with rounds of 84–83–82, placing tied for 57th. While, Freshman Isabella Morelock posted scores of 84–88–78 to place 60th, with her final round highlighted by four birdies, making a strong finish to the tournament. Senior Sophia Magaña recorded rounds of 89–79–89 to finish tied for 66th.
Junior Lillian Crays rounded out the lineup with rounds of 90–93–101, finishing 77th.
Cal State San Marcos captured the team title with a 32-over-par performance, while Cal State East Bay's Carlota Eroles and Western Washington's Lauren Lee shared medalist honors at 3-under par for the tournament.
Reflecting on the conclusion of the fall segment, Fegley-Birchmeier said, "We're shifting our focus towards refining our course management and strengthening our mental approach to competition. We have great talent across the team, and now it's time to maximize those skills."
The East Bay Fall Invitational marked the final tournament of the fall segment for the Wildcats, who will now turn their focus toward preparing for the spring portion of the 2025–26 season.
