Wildcats Conclude Play at WT Invitational in Texas

AMARILLO, TEXAS. – The Chico State women's golf team wrapped up play Tuesday at the WT Invitational, finishing 14th in the 15-team field with a three-round total of 951 at La Paloma Course. The par-71 layout played at 5,807 yards, and Tuesday's final round brought stronger winds than the opening day as the Wildcats closed with a 315 after carding their lowest team score of the season, a 302, in Monday's second round.

Freshman Gabriella Fanucchi led the way for Chico State, highlighted by a career-low 73 (+2) in the second round. She followed with a 75 (+4) on Tuesday to post a 228 and place 40th overall.

Senior Brooke Pelletier bounced back from an opening 83 with rounds of 74 and 77 to finish at 234 and place 56th. Freshman Isabella Morelock, competing in her first collegiate tournament, delivered rounds of 88–75–79 to finish at 242 in 67th place. Junior Ariana Blagrove totaled 248 to place 74th, while sophomore Hollyn Drennen finished with a 253 to place 75th.

Host West Texas A&M captured the team title at 5-over par 857, while the individual medalists were Sarah Reed of West Texas A&M and Maria Jose Savoca of Cameron, who both finished at 4-under par.

The Wildcats will wrap up their fall segment October 27–28 at the East Bay Fall Invitational, hosted by Cal State East Bay at Stonebrae Country Club.
