‘Cats Close Out Sonoma State Spring Invite

SANTA ROSA, Calif. – Three members of the Chico State women's golf team turned in identical scores and finished in the same place to close out the Sonoma State Spring Invitational Tuesday afternoon.
 
Trinity Hernandez, Brooke Pelletier and Makenzi Laporte each carded 10-over at the 5,890-yard, par-72 Santa Rosa Golf & Country Club. Hernandez was the top finisher for Chico State at 25th place, Laporte finished 29th and Pelletier took 33rd overall.
 
The Wildcats, as a team, finish 46-over par in the second round to finish 11th.
 
Ariana Blagrove and Hollyn Drennen also had identical results in the second round as the two finished 16-over.
 
Hernandez and Pelletier each had 41 in and out on the course. Laporte got off to a strong start teeing off from the 10th hole. She finished 3-over in the back-9 thank to six pars but ran into trouble in the front-9 to close out with a 43.
 
Blagrove highlighted her day with two birdies and five pars. Drennen had a good run in the back-9, scoring 3-over including five straight pars.
 
Chico State will have next week to prepare for the CCAA Championships, held April 21-23 at the beautiful Sandpiper Golf Club in Santa Barbara.
