BAY AREA – In perhaps the busiest weekend of the track & field season, the Chico State men's squad competed in four meets across three locations over the weekend, from the University of California's Brutus Hamilton Multis and Invitational to the Mike Fanelli Track Classic on the campus of San Francisco State and the Stanford Invitational.

Starting with the Brutus Hamilton Multi, Jordan Ausbie, Justin Craven and Collin Totman each enhanced their NCAA provisional mark in the decathlon. While taking third overall with 6,866 points, Ausbie now owns the third best mark across NCAA Division II with Craven behind him with 6,812 points. Totman moved to ninth best in the country with 6,378 points.

Craven also achieved a provisional mark in the pole vault, reaching 4.95 meters which also puts him in the program's all-time top 10 list.

Staying in Berkeley for the Brutus Hamilton Invitational, Brody Staley ran a new school-record 47.31 in the 400-meter to set an NCAA provisional mark. Staley also earned a provisional mark with teammates Quincy Patton, Vincent Rinaldi and Trey Suffredini in the 4x400m relay, running a time of 3:11.20 for the 11
th best time in Division II this season while setting the third best mark in program history.

Across the Bay Bridge at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic, Damian Garcia took third in the 800-meter in 1:50.40, putting his name at No. 10 in the program's record book.

Heading south of the 280 Freeway to Stanford, Damian Garcia took third in his section of the 1,500-meter run in 3:43.54, earning an NCAA provisional mark and owning the fifth fastest time in program history. Despite finishing 35
th in his section that featured Division I runners, Brayden McLaughlin is another Wildcat who earned an NCAA provisional time in the 10,000-meter run, clocking in at 29:24.33. It was also the fifth fastest time in program history, but he already holds the fourth best mark in the event.

Hunter Dougherty highlighted the 3,000-meter steeplechase by running in 8:57.30 to set a provisional mark while coming up 0.24 seconds short from tying the sixth program's fastest time he set last season.

Rinaldi didn't earn a provisional mark in the 200-meter but did run a 21.42, missing his school record by 0.44 seconds.

In the discus throw, Chance Hefter moved into the top 30 of the Division II provisional with a distance of 51.04 meters.

In addition to running at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational, Staley ran the 400-meter at the Stanford Invitational, clocking in at 47.62 seconds, which was also a provisional mark.

The Wildcats return home to host the Chico Invitational & Distance Carnival on Friday and Saturday.
