GOODYEAR, Ariz. – There is a saying: tomorrow is a new day.

That can be said for three members of the Chico State women's golf team Tuesday as Kaylie Parola, Trinity Hernandez and Ariana Blagrove each turned in better scores in the second and final round of the RJGA Shootout at the Golf Club of Estrella.

The Wildcats combined for 312 in the final round, a 14-shot improvement from Monday, to finish the tournament with a team score of 638, leaping over Fort Lewis and place 14
th overall.

Blagrove made the biggest turnaround between rounds. Following a difficult 17-over par result on Monday, the sophomore came back to the 6,005-yard, par-72 course and scored 3-over par in the second round. Starting from the 13
th hole, Blagrove made par her first seven holes. Following a double-bogey at hole No. 2, she shook it off and turned in another seven straight positive results, including a birdie on a par-4.

After finishing with a 79 on Monday, Parola finished 3-over par on her second visit, ending her tournament run 10-over that placed her in a seven-way tie for 22
nd on the individual leaderboard. She highlighted her day with two birdies and 11 pars.

Though she scored 7-over in the second round, Hernandez had to have felt better Tuesday after shooting an 84 on Monday. She made two birdies and turned in par scores 11 times as well.

Rounding out the Wildcats on Tuesday's second round, Brooke Pelletier carded an 83 and Hollyn Drennen scored a 91.

After there was a four-way tie for first place on Monday, Colorado Christian leaped all four teams and took the tournament win with a 34-over 610. The Cougars also saw Raya Schulz impressively leap 11 spots to win the individual leaderboard with an even par score.

The Wildcats finish out the fall segment of their 2024-24 schedule on October 7, when they participate in the Sonoma State Fall Invitational at the Foxtail Golf Club.
