VISTA – The Chico State women's golf team closed out the Cal State San Marcos Fujikura Invite Tuesday. Playing in a third round for the first time this season, the Wildcats scored a 335 at the par-72 Shadowridge Country Club.
 
Based on the scores, the course proved to be a challenge, for all teams finished well above par. The host Cougars won the tournament with a team score of 37-over 901. They did see their top golfer Madison Murr win the individual medal with a 215 score and was the only individual to score under par.
 
Ariana Blagrove led the Wildcats in the final round with an 81 score. Trinity Hernandez carded an 82 and was the top finisher for the Wildcats in the tournament. Brooke Pelletier had an 85 score, Kaylie Parola finished with an 87 and Kelly More rounded out the team with a 91.
 
The Wildcats will have a short turnaround for their next tournament as they will head to Palm Desert to play in the Augustana Spring Fling held at Desert Willow Golf Resort. That tournament became a substitution after the spring-opening LA Spring Kickoff was cancelled due to rain last month.
