ROHNERT PARK, Calif. – The Chico State women's golf team closed out its fall segment of the 2024-25 season on a positive note, scoring a seven stroke improvement in the second and final round of Sonoma State's Fall Invitational Tuesday.

After finishing with a combined 317 in Monday's first round, the Wildcats returned to the Foxtail Golf Club and scored a 310, leaping over Jessup and place third in the four-team tournament.

Kaylie Parola led the way in the second round, recording 4-over par to catch teammate Trinity Hernandez for sixth overall. While both made birdie three times, Hernandez came up with even par scores in 10 holes while Parola made par eight times.

Brooke Pelletier also had a better day on the course. After scoring an 80 on Monday, she went on to finish with a 77 on day two to place 11
th overall, highlighted with a pair of birdies and 10 pars.

Ariana Blagrove carded an 80 and Hollyn Drennen rounded out the Wildcats with an 89.

The host Seawolves ended up sweeping the tournament. The team finished 27-over par and beating second-place Academy of Art, which went 42-over. Sonoma's Avery Foster won medalist by scoring minus-3, the only participant to finish under par in the tournament.

Chico State will start its spring campaign on February 3, when the Wildcats participate in Cal State LA's Spring Kickoff, held at the Rio Hondo Country Club in Downey.
