TURLOCK – Same location, two different meets. Unlike last the multiple event weekend last week in the Bay Area, the Chico State men's track & field team returned to Al Brenda Track at Warrior Stadium for the Stan State Multi Thursday-Friday and its Invitational Friday-Saturday.

The festivities began Thursday with the decathlon. Alex Robie ended his day sitting in second place out of 15 participants in the group, scoring a total of 3,375 points. He won the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.53, took second in both the 400-meter dash and the high jump while taking third in the shot put.

Jordan Ausbie and Zack Nelson are currently at fourth and fifth place, respectively. Ausbie won the long jump with a reach of 6.60 meters and took third in the 400-meter dash.

Rounding out the rest of the Wildcats, Justin Craven is sitting in seventh place, Logan Jodie is in ninth and Brady Giles is in 10th.

The decathlon 'B' group features participants from William Jessup, UC Santa Cruz and a handful of athletes not associating themselves with the university.

The six athletes will wrap up the decathlon Friday with five more events (110-meter hurdles, discus throw, pole vault, javelin throw and 1,500-meter run). Simultaneously, the Stan State Invitational will commence with the field events only. Cody Hartsfield, Will Novascone, Adrian Barrios and Bryant Williams will participate in either or both the shot put, hammer and discus throws.

Chico State's runners won't see action until Saturday at 11:45 a.m. with Jack Hacker running the 5,000-meter run.
