ALISO VIEJO, Calif. – Following another standout performance in the decathlon, Chico State's Ronin Tidd has been named the FloCollege/CCAA Men's Field Athlete of the Week for the second time this season.
Tidd previously earned the honor in February after winning the Chico Multi Classic to open the season.
At California's Brutus Hamilton Multi, Tidd delivered a dominant showing, placing second overall—and first among NCAA Division II competitors—with a personal-best score of 6,757 points. The performance improved upon his existing NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark.
Competing against a strong field representing all three NCAA divisions, Tidd recorded multiple personal bests over the two-day competition and was highlighted by a first-place finish in the javelin (176-11 / 53.92m). His performance further solidifies his standing among the top multi-event athletes in the West Region.
The Wildcats return home this weekend to host the Chico Invitational Friday and Saturday.
