ALISO VIEJO, Calif. – Coming off a standout weekend across multiple meets in the Bay Area, Chico State's Brody Staley has been named the FloCollege/CCAA Men's Track Athlete of the Week.
The honor marks the first CCAA Track Athlete of the Week award of Staley's career and the first for Chico State during the 2026 season.
A native of Santa Cruz, Staley excelled across two meets, highlighted by an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark in the 400 meters at California's Brutus Hamilton Invitational. He won the event in 47.36, a time that currently ranks second in the CCAA this season.
Staley also posted a second NCAA provisional mark in the 400 meters at the Stanford Invitational, clocking a 47.55 against a strong field. He capped the weekend by running a leg on Chico State's winning 4x400-meter relay team, which recorded a 3:10.73—also an NCAA provisional qualifier. His performances against primarily NCAA Division I competition helped power one of Chico State's most impressive all-around weekends of the season.
The Wildcats return home this weekend to host the Chico Invitational Friday and Saturday.
