Personal records accomplished on final day of Bryan Clay Invite

Seven new personal bests were achieved on Saturday to bring a total of 11 on the weekend at the Bryan Clay Invitational

AZUSA – Azusa Pacific's Bryan Clay Invitational has been that one meet many track & field runners would like to make a valiant effort to shine in front of a large field of competitors from all around the nation. For Chico State's men's track & field team, it was no exception.
 
The Wildcats closed out the final day of the biggest meet in the regular season with seven new personal records achieved, bringing a total of 11 for three-day weekend.
 
The 400-meter dash had the second most entries in an event on Saturday with 92 runners participating. Demetre Coffey ran a new personal record time of 48.69 to finish 32nd with Ty Thomson finishing three spots behind him.
 
Another large interest to teams was the 200-meter dash, which had 93 entries. Vincent Rinaldi led the effort with a running time of 21.63 to finish 37th amongst the Wildcats.
 
The 1,600-meter relay team had the best result amongst position. In a field that featured 17 relay teams, Chico State secured fifth place with a time of 3:14.98.
 
Alex Robie had one of the best finishes in his career in the javelin throw, reaching 51.39 meters to break his personal best and finish 13th out of 28 participants.

Before they return to Southern California for the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Championships at Cal State San Marcos in two weeks, the 'Cats will host the Chico Invitational at University Stadium on Friday and Saturday.
