The last time the Chico State men's soccer team played a regular-season match at University Soccer Stadium, it celebrated a postseason berth at the final horn, having knocked off rival Humboldt State. It felt good. The Wildcats will be looking for a similar result and the same kind of feelings this week when they play their first two home matches of the regular season. Chico State hosts Saint Martin's Thursday at 7 p.m. and Simon Fraser Saturday at 11 a.m.
Â
The Wildcats are back following a 0-1-1 road trip in which they played to a scoreless draw at Seattle Pacific and fell 1-0 at Western Washington. Those are two of the top teams in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference. This week the Wildcats host two more. Simon Fraser is the preseason favorite to win the GNAC title, while Saint Martin's was picked to finish fifth in the conference.
Â
The Saints fell 6-0 to Cal State LA—the nation's No. 1 ranked team—to open the season, but rebounded with a scoreless draw against Hawaii Pacific on Sunday. Simon Fraser fell 1-0 against Cal State LA Saturday.

Both matches will be streamed live on the CCAA Network. Those links, along with links to live stats, are available at

Â
Chico State leads the all-time series against Saint Martin's 3-2, though the Saints have won the last two meetings, which were played in Lacey, Washington, including last season's 2-1 decision. The Wildcats have won both meetings in Chico.
Â
This will mark just the second meeting between Chico State and Simon Fraser. The Wildcats dropped the first 1-0 last season in British Columbia on a goal with just 86 seconds remaining in regulation.
