Last weekend, for the first time this season, the Chico State women's soccer team experienced a bit of a hiccup. The good news is that the Wildcats have company. Every other team in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) already had.
Despite dropping out of the conference's cat-bird seat with a tie and loss, they remain in striking distance of first place with the halfway point in the conference schedule looming this weekend. The Wildcats will look to get right back to the top this week when they host Cal State East Bay Wednesday at 7 p.m. at University Soccer Stadium and Stanislaus State Sunday at 2 p.m. in Turlock.
Chico State enters the action ranked No. 4 in the West Region with an overall record of 5-2-3 and conference mark of 2-1-1. They will be looking for revenge Wednesday night against a Cal State East Bay side that ended the Wildcats' 2021 season in the semifinals of the CCAA Tournament. The Pioneers are 2-5-3 overall and 0-3-1 in the CCAA. Stanislaus State enters the week with a record of 5-3-2 and 2-2-0.
Both matches will be broadcast on the CCAA Network and live stats are also available. Links can be found at
