CHICO, Calif. – Following their historic season, the Chico State women's soccer team earned four spots on the 2025 CSC Academic All-District Team: Klayre Barres, Hannah Pieri, Gabby Starr, and Taylor McMahon.
The 2025–26 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees across four divisions: NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot, which will be voted on by CSC members. First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on Dec. 16, 2025 (men) and Dec. 17, 2025 (women).
All four Wildcats played vital roles in the success of the 2025 campaign, giving head coach Kim Sutton one final season filled with upsets and excitement. Reaching the CCAA Tournament Championship match and upsetting No. 1 Cal Poly Pomona were among the highlights of the historic run.
Hannah Pieri was the lone All-CCAA First Team selection, following a career-best season with three goals and four assists. Taylor McMahon led the Wildcats in scoring with a career-high five goals and added five assists, topping the team in points and game-winners. Gabby Starr anchored the back line at center back, converting both penalty kicks she took and helping the Wildcats secure six shutouts. After returning from injury, Klayre Barres proved dangerous from the left-back position, tallying three assists and earning the CCAA Women's Soccer Elite 13 Award for her academic excellence.
Pieri, McMahon, and Barres have all advanced to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot, where they will be considered for First-, Second-, and Third-Team honors. Final selections will be announced on December 17.
