CHICO, Calif. – The United Soccer Coaches have recognized three distinguished members of the Chico State women's soccer squad with All-West Region honors. Hannah Pieri, Taylor McMahon, and Gabby Starr continue to see accolades roll in, earning spots on the 2025 All-West Region team following impressive seasons for the Wildcats.
Senior Hannah Pieri capped her long Chico State career in outstanding fashion, earning Second Team All-West Region honors in her final season after a standout year on the wing. Pieri scored in three consecutive matches—from the win over UC Merced (Oct. 26) through the draw with Cal State East Bay (Nov. 2)—and finished the year with four assists. The Orangevale product was a constant force along the flank, securing her second All-CCAA selection and her first-ever First Team nod.
Senior Taylor McMahon collected Third Team All-West Region recognition in her second season as a Wildcat, leading the squad with 15 points. The Washington State transfer brought a dynamic blend of size, technique, and creativity to the attack, contributing five goals and five assists. Renowned for her set-piece prowess and ability to generate pressure in the final third, McMahon played a pivotal role in shaping Chico State's offensive rhythm.
Rounding out Chico State's honorees, sophomore Gabby Starr earned her first career All-West Region Third Team selection after solidifying the Wildcats' backline. Taking on a leadership role following the departure of both starting center-backs from the previous year, Starr anchored a young defensive unit while emerging as its central leader. She also converted both of the team's penalty kicks—marking the first goals of her career. Starting all 18 matches, Starr helped the Wildcats record six shutouts and post a 1.00 goals-against average, seventh-best in the CCAA.
This marks the first All-Region appearance for each player, adding to an already remarkable fall in which the 'Cats made a run at the CCAA Championship title in Seaside. Chico State finished second in the CCAA regular-season standings and earned the title of 2025 CCAA Championship Runners-Up, concluding head coach Kim Sutton's career with a year to remember.
