Behind an impressive three-match win streak during which they've outscored their opponents 7-1, the Chico State women's soccer team has broken into the United Soccer Coaches National Rankings at No. 24. The Wildcats will put their ranking and win streak on the line this week when they host Azusa Pacific Thursday at 7 p.m. and travel to face Fresno Pacific Saturday at noon.

Six different Wildcats have tallied, led by Abbie Jones' pair. Four have scored their first collegiate goal: sophomore Cody Johnson and freshmen Chloe King, Camille Lidster, and Marissa Martin. Five different Wildcats have dished out assists. Jordan Doukakis has a pair, bringing her career total to 10.

Defensively, after a shaky start in a 2-1 loss at Colorado School of Mines, the Wildcats have stiffened. Since allowing 20 shots (nine on goal) on opening night, they've allowed a combined 22 shots (10 on goal) in the last three matches.

This week's matches will certainly challenge the Wildcats in their quest to keep rolling.

Azusa Pacific enters Thursday's showdown with a record of 2-1-0 following a 3-2 loss against the nation's top-ranked team, UC San Diego, last Saturday night. Picked to finish third in the PacWest this season, the Cougars opened the season with wins of 3-1 at Cal State Dominguez Hills and 1-0 at home against Cal State San Marcos.

Fresno Pacific is 0-3-0, having lost tight matches against Central Washington (2-1), Stanislaus State (1-0), and Cal State Dominguez Hills (1-0 in overtime). Picked to finish fifth in the PacWest this season, the Sunbirds are at Cal State LA Wednesday night before returning home to prepare to host the Wildcats.
