After a productive opening weekend in the Mile High City, the Chico State women's soccer team is back home in the valley for its 2019 home opener Thursday at 4:30 p.m. against Dominican University. The Wildcats will also take on Holy Names University Saturday at 7 p.m.

Both matches are at University Soccer Stadium. Chico State students with a valid student ID get in free to all regular season intercollegiate athletics events. Soccer general admission is $8. Seniors and visiting students with a student ID are $5, Children 3–12 years old are $3, and children 2-and-under are free.

Thursday's match is the first half of a soccer doubleheader at University Soccer Stadium. The Chico State men will make their 2019 home debut at 7 p.m. against Concordia-Portland. As always, links to live streaming video and live stats are available at www.chicowildcats.com.

The Wildcats opened the season with a 2-1 loss at then-15th-ranked Colorado School of Mines Friday (The Orediggers have since moved up to No. 7) before bouncing back with a 2-1 win at Regis University on Sunday.

The Wildcats are No. 7 in the West Region in the first United Soccer Coaches West Region Poll.

With more than half of the roster made up of freshmen—17 of 33 to be exact—to go along with 10 sophomores, four juniors, and only two seniors, head coach Kim Sutton expected some peaks and valleys. But getting the first road trip of the season out of the way and coming back home to play three home matches in the next eight days should help.
