The Chico State men's soccer team is headed in a positive direction following its 3-2 victory against 11
th-ranked Seattle Pacific last Saturday. Omar Nuño's hat trick helped the Wildcats leave behind a frustrating season-opening loss to Western Washington – a match in which they outshot the visitors 17-6.
The Wildcats hope to keep trending upward this week as they hit the road to face Point Loma Thursday afternoon at 4:30 in San Diego, and California Baptist Saturday at 12:30 in Riverside.

Point Loma is 1-0-1 after opening its season with a 2-0 victory against 13
th-ranked Cal State Dominguez Hills and then tying Cal State L.A. 1-1. The Sea Lions were picked to finish second in the Pacific West Conference. They finished fourth last season with a record of 9-5-3 overall and 8-3-2 in the PacWest.
This will be the first meeting between these programs.
California Baptist won its season opener last Saturday against Saint Martin's 3-2 on the strength of Aidan Apodaca's hat trick. The Lancers will host Sonoma State Thursday before welcoming Chico State to town on Saturday.
California Baptist, just 6-10-2 last season, is expected to field a much-improved squad this season. In fact, the coaches of the PacWest picked the Lancers to finish sixth in the 14-team conference race.
