The talented Chico State women's soccer team is back on track after consecutive impressive victories last weekend. This weekend, the Wildcats back on the road.
Chico State will play at Stanislaus State Friday at 7 p.m. and Cal State East Bay Sunday at 11:30 a.m. in its final regular-season road swing.
The Wildcats beat first-place Cal State L.A. 2-1 in overtime Friday, and scored twice in the final 23 minutes in a come-from-behind 2-1 win against second-place Cal State Dominguez Hills Sunday.
They were back to playing the soccer that got them off to a 4-0-1 start. Now 6-6-1 overall and 2-6-0 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA), the Wildcats will likely have to run the table over their final four matches in order to have a shot at playing in the postseason.
Stanislaus State's season has gone much like the Wildcats'. After a 5-0 start, the Warriors had dropped five of their last seven entering Wednesday's matchup with Cal State East Bay, and now stand at 7-5-0 overall and 1-5-0 in the CCAA.
Cal State East Bay entered Wednesday's match 3-6-3 overall and 2-4-0 in the CCAA.
