Thanks to its tightfisted defense the Chico State women's soccer team hasn't needed to score much to have success this season. But when the Wildcats do find the back of the net, they're nearly impossible to beat.
They're 7-1-2 when scoring this season and have found plenty of ways to do so. Eleven different Wildcats have a goal or assist. Shelby Lanksbury, Lindsey Dias and Megan Tabler lead the team with three goals apiece. Katie Brown and Tabler lead the way with a trio of assists.
Chico State fans have a great chance to score as well when the Wildcats host Cal State East Bay Friday at 4:30. A number of lucky fans will walk away with $10 Jack in the Box Cash Cards on Jack In The Box Pack The House Night.
The Wildcats enter the weekend 6-4-2 overall and 3-2-1 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. They're in fourth place in the CCAA. The top six teams at the end of the conference slate will advance to the CCAA Championship Tournament.
Their defense has allowed only five goals in six conference matches (the second fewest in the CCAA).
Cal State East Bay is 5-6-2 overall and 2-4 in the CCAA.
Following Friday's affair the Wildcats will prepare to travel to Turlock where they'll face Cal State Stanislaus Sunday at 11:30. The 21
st-ranked Warriors (11-2-0, 4-2-0 CCAA) handed the Wildcats their lone home loss of the season, 1-0, on Sept. 21.
The Wildcats will play their final three regular season matches at home after that.
