Hard-luck loss for women’s soccer team

True freshman Dias leads team in shots

Box Score LOS ANGELES – Scotie Walker hit the crossbar 2:09 into the match. It turned out to be that kind of night for the Chico State women's soccer team. The Wildcats had five shots on goal denied as well in a 1-0 loss at Cal State L.A. Friday night.

Wildcats goalkeeper Brianna Furner secured six saves in the loss, but Amalla Arvidsson scored on a point-blank strike in the 72nd minute to lift the Golden Eagles to victory.

Chico State enjoyed a 4-0 edge in corner kicks, but couldn't solve Cal State L.A. goalkeeper Yi Du, who made five saves in the shutout.

True freshman Lindsey Dias led the Wildcats with three shots, including a pair that were on frame. Gail Bassett put two shots on goal as well.
