The weather forecast this weekend in Southern California looks gorgeous – highs in the low 80s and plenty of sunshine. The Chico State women's soccer team is also hoping for a couple good results, sandwiched around a trip to the beach, of course.
The Wildcats, 3-2-1 overall and 1-2-1 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA), play at Cal State L.A. Friday night at 7 and at Cal State Dominguez Hills Sunday at 11:30.
Where They Stand
With four points, the Wildcats are currently in fifth place in the CCAA's South Division, four behind UC San Diego. Cal State San Bernardino and Cal State Dominguez Hills are tied for second with seven points, Cal Poly Pomona has six, and Cal State L.A. one. Teams are awarded three points for a win and one for a tie.
In The Rankings
The Wildcats are currently tied for 8th in the NSCAA West Region rankings with Cal State Dominguez Hills.
Blast From The Past
The last time the Wildcats played at Cal State L.A., on Nov. 18, 2011, they beat the Golden Eagles on penalty kicks following a scoreless draw to win the West Region title and advance to the NCAA Championship Tournament quarterfinals. Goalkeeper Brianna Furner turned away five PKs in the process.
