Wrap up regular season on the road

The Chico State women's soccer team enters the final weekend of the regular season on a hot streak, having won three straight by a combined score of 6-0. The Wildcats will attempt to finish that way when they hit the road to take on California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) South Division leader Cal State San Bernardino Friday at 3 p.m. and Cal State Monterey Bay Sunday at 2 p.m.

Chico State is 7-7-2 overall and 5-7-2 in the CCAA and needs two wins and a lot of friendly results around the CCAA to reach the postseason for the seventh time in Head Coach Kim Sutton's 13 seasons at the helm.

Either way, seniors Carly Singer, Scotie Walker, Danielle Leiva and Gail Bassett will complete their careers with much to be proud of.

Singer ranks eighth in school history with 16 career assists, and Walker enters the weekend just outside of the top 10 in career goals, assists and points. Leiva, Singer and Walker were part of the Wildcats' outstanding 2011 NCAA Championships Final Four run. And Bassett has been the team's most dynamic defender in each of her two seasons.

Goalkeeper Brianna Furner has been one of the main beneficiaries of that quartet's quality play. She enters the weekend ranked third on Chico State's career victories list with 27 and third on the career shutouts list with 18.
