The Chico State women's soccer team has just one match each against long-time Northern California rivals Sonoma State and Humboldt State this season. That's one of the downsides of the Wildcats' move to the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) South Division.
The good news for Chico State fans: they play both at home this weekend, which also happens to be Alumni Weekend.
The Wildcats take on Sonoma State Friday at 7 p.m. and Humboldt State Sunday at 2 p.m.
Friday's affair marks the start of a four-match homestand for the Wildcats, who hope to gather some momentum with the postseason quickly approaching.
They're 4-6-2 overall and 2-6-2 in the CCAA's South Division and running short on time to make a postseason push with six regular-season matches remaining.
Sonoma State is currently in second place in the CCAA's North Division at 7-2-3 overall and 5-2-3 in conference play.
Humboldt State, where Wildcats Head Coach Kim Sutton once coached, is 3-6-3 overall and 1-6-3 in the CCAA.
