Fans of the nationally ranked Chico State women’s soccer team have enjoyed an extended early season look at the Wildcats thanks to a stretch of six straight home matches to start the season. The homestand comes to an end this weekend when the No. 14 Wildcats host California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) North Division rivals Cal State Monterey Bay and Cal State East Bay Friday and Sunday, respectively.
 
Friday afternoon’s match against the Otters is scheduled to kick off at 4:30 and Sunday’s showdown with Cal State East Bay will start at 11:30 a.m.. Chico State boasts a record of 3-1 overall and 1-1 in the CCAA. Cal State Monterey Bay is 2-1 overall and 0-1 in CCAA play. Cal State East Bay, which plays at Cal State Stanislaus Friday before visiting Chico, is also 2-1 overall and 0-1 in the CCAA.
 
The Wildcats are 11-0 all-time against Cal State Monterey Bay and unbeaten in their last 21 matches against Cal State East Bay dating back to 1990. They’re 19-0-2 during that streak.
 
The Wildcats bounced back nicely with their third shutout of the season Sunday against Cal State Dominguez Hills after a frustrating loss to Cal State L.A. last Friday. They’ve enjoyed offensive contributions from a wide array of players. Eight different athletes have contributed to the scoring this season with at least one goal and/or assist.
 
Scotie Walker leads the team with a pair of goals and Carly Singer has supplied a CCAA-leading three assists.
