During the season-opening Concordia Kickoff Classic and Desert Stinger Tournament, Chico State’s Nina Revoir gave fans a tantalizing taste of what she could contribute to the Wildcats’ offense in 2022. Against Cal State Monterey Bay, the senior outfielder displayed the full array of her talents, frustrating the Otters with a healthy number of timely and productive at-bats. Revoir’s huge role in the ’Cats’ hitting attack makes her the latest Wildcat of the Week.
Â
The Sacramento native batted .429 (6-for-14) over the four-game set with Monterey Bay, collecting three extra-base hits and driving in six runs while posting an .857 slugging percentage. Revoir’s contributions were key to the Wildcats’ series split with the No. 12 Otters and helped raise Chico State’s season record to 10-4.
Â
In Friday’s series opener, Revoir knocked in a huge insurance run in Chico State’s 2-0 victory over the Otters. She then went 4-for-4 in game one of Saturday’s doubleheader, blasting a three-run homer to cap a seven-run sixth inning in the ’Cats’ 8-0 victory. In the nightcap, Revoir drove in two more in her very first at-bat, delivering a two-out triple to open the Wildcats’ scoring. She also played flawless defense throughout the series.
Â
Revoir is batting .390 on the season and is ranked in the CCAA top 10 in hits (16), runs scored (11), runs batted in (10), and slugging percentage (.659). She leads the Wildcats in runs scored, RBI, slugging percentage, extra-base hits (6), and total bases (27), and is tied for the team lead with two home runs.
Â
This week, Revoir and the Wildcats host Cal State San Bernardino in the first series of the year at University Softball Field. The four-game set gets underway with a doubleheader Friday beginning at 12 noon, with a Saturday twin bill slated to start at 11 a.m.
