The numbers show it: Jordan Semple is simply one of the best players in the history of the Chico State men's basketball program. On a somewhat disappointing week for the Wildcats, Semple continued his ascent into the program's lore, becoming just the 15th player to reach 1,000 career points while moving into third on the all-time rebounding list.

Semple averaged 15.7 points, seven rebounds, 2.3 blocked shots, 2.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game last week and earned All-Tournament honors at the 52nd annual Carl's Jr. Mac Martin Invitational.

He scored a season-high 19, including a first-half layup that gave him 1,000 career points, to go along with eight rebounds, three blocks and two steals in just 25 minutes as the Wildcats blasted William Jessup 97-64 on Tuesday. The senior from Arcata pulled down a season high nine rebounds to go along with 18 points and three blocks in a 67-61 loss to Dominican. And he dished out a season high six assists to go along with 10 points a steal and a block in a 75-61 loss to Azusa Pacific.

He finished the week with 1,037 points, tied for 15th in school history with Roderick Hawkins. And Saturday he grabbed his 689th career rebound to move past Aaron Martella into third on the rebounding list. Semple is 33 boards shy of second-place Rich Nelson and needs 62 more to match Billy Jones for the school record.

He's now just one of four Wildcats with more than 1,000 points and 500 rebounds in his career, joining Jim Schriener (1974-78), Martella (1990-94) and Hawkins (2007-11).

Already the school's career record holder in blocked shots with 114, Semple ranks seventh all-time in steals with 101 and on Saturday became the 13th player in school history to make his 200th career free throw.

Semple and the Wildcats will begin conference play this weekend at Cal State Dominguez Hills Friday and Cal State L.A. Saturday.
