Tidd’s Career Day Leads to CCAA Field Athlete of the Week

| By:

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. – After opening his season with an NCAA provisional mark at the Chico State Multi Classic, Ronin Tidd has been named the FloCollege/CCAA Field Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.

The honor marks the first CCAA Field Athlete of the Week award of Tidd's career and the first of the 2026 season for Chico State.

Tidd captured the decathlon title in Chico State's season-opening meet with a personal-best 6,576 points, surpassing the NCAA Division II provisional qualifying standard. His performance was highlighted by four event victories over the two-day competition, including wins in the shot put (39-3 / 11.96m, personal best), high jump (6-2 / 1.88m), discus (116-2 / 35.40m), and javelin (175-4 / 53.16m, personal best).

He also recorded personal-best marks in the 400 meters (52.22) and 100 meters (11.54), contributing to one of the strongest season-opening decathlon performances in the CCAA.

Tidd's provisional mark positions him among the early national qualifiers as Chico State begins the 2026 campaign.

The Wildcats return to action Saturday at the Shasta College Invitational in Redding.
