The Chico State women's track and field team spread out amongst three separate meets to further improve their times and get a taste of some of the largest competitions in Northern California. The Wildcats competed in the Mike Fanelli Classic, Stanford Invitational, and the Brutus Hamilton Invitational at Cal against an endless list of incredible competitors.
Brutus Multis
Natalie Muse finished seventh in the Heptathlon at Cal, with freshman Annabelle Low ending in twelfth amongst eighteen competitors.
Muse earned a personal best of 4434 points in the multi-event competition, with new personal bests in the 100m hurdles, long jump, and 800m. Annabelle Low concluded the two-day event with 3689 points, with personal bests in the high jump and 800m.
Brutus Invitational
Josie Peterson took the top spot in the javelin at California with a 42.95m throw, furthering her provisional mark and season best. Andrew Villalta threw for a personal best of 41.11m, claiming a third-place finish.
Angelina Escobar made a strong effort in the hammer throw with a new personal best of 49.27m.
Janey Rubio finished seventh in the pole vault with a mark of 3.45m; teammate Miranda Seitz ended the event in tenth with a 3.30m mark.
Tianna Thompson ran the 200m with purpose, recording a new personal best of 25.82 and finished 17th in the event.
Danielle Bacon finished in seventh in the 400m with a time of 57.87, with teammate Madi Monroe on her heels in tenth with a clocked time of 58.98.
Chico State's 4x400m relay team finished in a strong third-place finish, the squad consisting of Danielle Bacon, Kaitlyn Gonzales, Madison Kalberer, and Madi Monroe finished with a 3:55.97.
Mike Fanelli Classic
Sienna Bianchi claimed two solid personal bests at San Francisco State, clocking a 4:33.84 in the 1500m, besting her previous time by five seconds. In the 800m, the junior ran a 1-second PR of 2:14.47.
Sydney Garcia finished behind Bianchi in the 800m, earning a personal best of her own of 2:14.64.
Megan Malloy recorded a strong personal best in the 10,000m race by over a minute-and-a-half, crossing the line at 36:57.32 in ninth place. The sophomore battled through the longest-distance event and was able to push her limits for the personal best.
