Molina Sisters Claim Provo Marks as Wildcats Take on Stacked Hornet Invite

SACRAMENTO, Calif.: In the Wildcats' first Division 1 hosted invite, there were many incredible marks, improvements, and personal bests. Della and Iresh Molina were the solo 'Cats to nab provisional marks at Hornet Stadium, building on their progress from their All-American seasons last year.
 

It was a great introduction to a flurry of strong competitors across all levels of track and field, with the 'Cats allowed to test themselves again talents across the West Region.
 

Breah Bell and Morgan Greene posted impressive new personal bests at the Hornet invite in the 100m dash. Bell clocked a 12.47 while Green was just behind in 12.65. 


Madi Monroe was the best finisher for the Wildcats in the 200m, earning herself a personal best of 25.71. Fellow Junior Tianna Thompson ran a personal best mark of 26.14 in the sprint.
 

Sienna Bianchi led the way in the 800m race, with a personal best time of 2:15.34 and claiming a second best time in the 1500m with a clocked time of 4:38.92. Teammate Kaya Scuba was awarded two personal bests in the same events with a strong 2:20.83 in the 800m and a 4:42.42 in the longer 1500m race.
 

Della and Iresh Molina claimed their first provisional marks of the season in the 5000m, with Della (16.32.76) finishing in third amongst the field and Iresh (16.44.55) on her heels in fifth. Both distance runners improved massively from their season-opening times at the Wildcat Invite. 
 

Olivia Beschorner finished 14th in her first 3000m Steeplechase event of her collegiate career, clocking a time of 11.32.73.
 

The Chico State 4x400m relay team consisting of Danielle Bacon, Sidney Garcia, Kaitlyn Gonzales, and Madi Monroe flew over the line in 12th at 3:56.78, the group's fastest time of the season. 
 

Janey Rubio claimed a season's best in the pole vault event, clearing the 3.53m bar. 
 

Angelina Escobar penciled in a new personal best shot put mark after throwing for 11.53m, finishing in 11th in the discus (43.00m) and 12th in the hammer throw (45.87m).
