ALISO VIEJO – Chico State senior forward Meadow Aragon has been selected as the FloCollege/CCAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 8–14, marking her second consecutive weekly honor.
Aragon continued her standout play by recording her third straight double-double in the Wildcats' 75–69 non-conference victory over Saint Martin's. The senior finished with 20 points on 9-of-16 shooting (.563) while pulling down 15 rebounds, including nine on the offensive glass.
The performance marked Aragon's sixth double-double of the season, a total that leads the CCAA and ranks fourth in NCAA Division II. She also tops the conference in rebounds per game (10.7) and sits sixth in scoring at 15.0 points per game, continuing to anchor Chico State's frontcourt with consistent production on both ends of the floor.
Aragon's latest honor carries historic significance for the Wildcats. She becomes just the second Chico State player to earn CCAA Player of the Week honors in back-to-back weeks and helps the program achieve a milestone, as Chico State has now claimed the award three consecutive weeks overall. Kaylie Edge earned the recognition two weeks ago, followed by Aragon in each of the past two weeks.
The award is the fourth of Aragon's collegiate career, having captured the weekly honors twice last season.
Chico State (6–2, 2–0 CCAA) will head out on the road this week to face Cal State Monterey Bay on Dec. 19 and Cal State San Marcos on Dec. 21.
