Wildcats Scratch Warriors to Cap Perfect Start to Conference-Opening Week

CHICO, Calif. – Madison Parry scored 17 points and Meadow Aragon posted a double-double as Chico State remained unbeaten in conference play with a 66–52 win over Stanislaus State Saturday afternoon at Acker Gym.

The Wildcats improve to 5–2 overall and 2–0 in the CCAA. Stanislaus State drops to 1–4 and 0–2 in conference.

– Meadow Aragon – 15 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists
– Kaylie Edge – 9 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals, 3 assists

How it Happened
– Chico State trailed 19–15 after the first but took a 34–29 lead into halftime thanks to a 19–10 second quarter
– The Wildcats outscored Stanislaus 20–11 in the third to take control, holding the Warriors without a field goal for over six minutes
– Aragon and Parry combined for 12 third-quarter points as Chico extended the lead to double digits
– Stanislaus State cut the deficit to nine late, but Chico State closed the game with key defensive stops and free throws

By the Numbers
– Chico State outrebounded the Warriors 44–34, including 11 offensive boards
– The Wildcats shot 16-of-20 from the free throw line (80%)
– Chico held Stanislaus to 22-of-65 shooting (33.8%) and just 3-of-20 from beyond the arc
– 15 assists on 22 field goals for Chico State
– The Wildcats bench outscored the Warriors' reserves 17–15
