CHICO, Calif. – One win, one tie and the Wildcats are off to a strong start for the 2025 CCAA Conference season, due in part to a strong duo of performances by Weston Joyner. 
 
The Washington native earns his first CCAA Player of the Week honor, following a shutout against the Cougars and crucial stops against the Toros in the conference opener. Joyner made 11 saves across the two matches, making vital saves against attempts from distance and in front of the net.
 
In the 74^th minute of the match against the Toros, Joyner made a close range save off a diving players touch that was making it's way into the near post.
 
Joyner kept the Wildcats in the fight throughout the Sunday match-up against the Cougars, make solid stops as the visitors continued to pepper the 'Cats goal. 

Through the first week of conference play, Joyner ranks third in the CCAA in shutouts (2) and fourth in goals-against average (1.103). Click here to see the complete CCAA stats leaders.

The Wildcats will face Cal Poly Pomona on Friday, Oct. 10, at 7:00 p.m. in Pomona, Calif., at Kellogg Stadium. They will then travel to take on Cal State LA on Sunday, Oct. 12, at 2:00 p.m. in Los Angeles, Calif., at University Stadium. Both matches will be available to watch on FloCollege.
