’Cats Jump Ahead, But Golden Eagles Soar Late

Los Angeles, Calif. – Chico State showed stretches of sharp sideout offense but couldn't slow a red-hot Cal State LA attack, falling 3–1 (22–25, 25–18, 25–19, 25–16) Saturday at University Gym. The Wildcats move to 4–9 overall and 0–6 in the CCAA; the Golden Eagles improve to 10–3 and 6–0.

Match Summary
Set 1 – Chico came out crisp on the road, hitting .324 and closing with a 4–1 burst to take it 25–22.
Set 2 – LA found its rhythm (17 kills, .375) and used a mid-set run to even the match, 25–18.
Set 3 – The Golden Eagles kept the pressure on at .388 to pull away late, 25–19.
Set 4 – LA closed it out behind Ayjah Landers and Samarah DaCoud, hitting .500 in the frame to win 25–16.
