CHICO, Calif. – The 2024 baseball season may be over for Chico State, but Troy Kent is still hearing his name called as the junior outfielder was voted into two All-West Region awards this month.
 
The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings voted him second-team All-West Region and he received an honorable mention from the Division II Conference Commissioners Association.
 
Kent, a transfer from the 2023 3C2A State champions Santa Ana College, became an immediate impact to the Chico State lineup. He started all 48 games he played and batted either second or third in the order. He hit .346 on the year with 17 doubles, 8 home runs and 49 RBIs. He also went a perfect 5-for-5 in the stolen bases department. Primarily a right fielder, Kent was credited for three outfield assists on the year.
 
The Wildcats went on to finish 25-24 on the season and qualified for the CCAA Championships.
