Jackson Snitko's consistency in the Chico State lineup was matched by his work in the classroom.
The Wildcat first baseman was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Baseball Team, earning recognition for his combined academic and athletic performance during the 2026 season.
Snitko, a Business Administration major with a concentration in Finance, was Chico State's representative on the NCAA Division II Academic All-District list announced by CSC.
To be eligible for Academic All-District recognition, undergraduate student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average, be at least a sophomore both academically and athletically, and meet sport-specific participation requirements. In baseball, position players must compete in at least 90 percent of their team's games or start at least 66 percent of the team's contests.
Snitko met that athletic standard by appearing in 49 of Chico State's 50 games while making 40 starts. He was one of the Wildcats' most dependable bats, finishing the season with a .292 batting average, 40 hits, nine doubles, 24 runs scored, and 24 RBIs. He also drew 19 walks, struck out only 11 times in 137 at-bats, and went 2-for-2 in stolen-base attempts.
Defensively, Snitko was a regular presence at first base, where he helped anchor the right side of the infield.
Snitko finished the season tied for the team lead in doubles, tied for first in RBIs, third in hits, third in total bases, and fifth in batting average among Wildcats with at least 75 at-bats. He also produced 10 multi-hit games and five multi-RBI games.
Chico State finished the 2026 season 26-24 overall and 15-17 in CCAA play.
