ABCA Tabs Poole Rawlings All-West Region Second Team

| By:
GREENSBORO, N.C. - Chico State freshman pitcher Jakob Poole added another postseason honor to his breakout debut campaign after being selected to the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings NCAA Division II All-West Region second team.

It is the third postseason award for Poole this month, for he was selected second-team All-CCAA and received NCBWA All-West Region honorable mention.

The Martinez native emerged as one of Chico State's most dependable arms throughout the spring, finishing the season with a 6-2 record and a 3.38 ERA across 45.1 innings. Opponents hit just .219 against the freshman right-hander, who also struck out 30 batters during the year.

Poole delivered several key performances throughout the season, including earning victories against Western Oregon, UC Colorado Springs, and Cal State East Bay. He also threw six scoreless innings against Cal State San Marcos on March 22, allowing just two hits in one of the Wildcats' top pitching performances of the season.

In conference play, Poole established himself as one of the CCAA's top young pitchers. He ranked among the conference leaders in ERA and opposing batting average while consistently attacking the strike zone and limiting hard contact.

Poole played a major role in helping Chico State finish with the top team ERA in the CCAA at 4.43, a mark that ranked 16th nationally in NCAA Division II.

The ABCA/Rawlings recognition caps off an impressive freshman season and further highlights Poole's emergence as one of the Wildcats' top returning arms entering 2027.
